The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, and the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA), recognizing the need and the willingness for integration in the City of Mostar, have proposed the establishment of a new Local Democracy Agency (LDA) in the city of Mostar
This Agency is the 11th Agency to be established in the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
The LDAs are a network of local and regional authorities, active partners in international relations for the promotion of local democracy and human rights.
Besides the City of Mostar, as host city, the LDA Mostar comprises the following partners: Region Puglia, Region Sicily, City of Monfalcone, City of Montegrotto (Italy), Region and Municipality of Vejle (Denmark), City of Kayseri (Turkey), City of Kragujevac (Serbia and Montenegro).
All these partners provide technical and financial support and expertise for projects run by the LDA. The LDA Mostar also thanks the governments of Liechtenstein and Luxemburg for granting their financial support to the project.
The inauguration is a symbolic but very substantial event when we define the partnership, the needs and objectives, and everyone's commitment.
