The Hague Tribunal – Road to dealing with the Past

13.10.2004

Public debate
YIHR believes that an open debate about responsibility for war crimes is a basis for political stability and that the process of dealing with the past is something the society owes to victims of war crimes, being a basis for the process of reconciliation.

Representatives of the victims of war crimes’ associations, embassies, domestic courts, as well as activists from local and foreign non-governmental organizations as well as members of the general public are invited to attend.

The speakers at the public debate will be:

Sabra Kolenović and Zumra Šehomerović, Association of Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Zepa

Alexandra Milenov, Coordinator for public relations, ICTY Outreach Office, Belgrade

Sonja Prostran, Secretary of the District court in Belgrade (War crimes Office)

Bruno Vekarić, Spokesperson for the Prosecutor's office (War Crimes Office)

Nenad Čanak, President of the Social-democrat league of Vojvodina

Andrej Nosov, Executive director of Youth Initiative for Human Rights
